Summary of the main conclusions drawn from the project 1C4PV, which has as its main objective applying tools based on Artificial Intelligence on the Big Data information available in control systems and photovoltaic plants sensors.
At a time when photovoltaic solar technology is bound to become the dominant source of power generation worldwide, the photovoltaic industry faces two unavoidable challenges: maximizing the power output of its systems, and minimizing both power production losses and operational costs. This is the only way to make decarbonization and the transformation of the electricity sector possible.
With this purpose in mind, Isotrol has led the international R&D project 1C4PV for the last two years, together with the Turkish company Tegnatia and the Research Centre for Sustainable Energy (FOSS) of the University of Cyprus. We have developed an innovative system based on artificial intelligence (AI) for the analysis and maintenance of photovoltaic assets.
The aforementioned platform allows data cleansing, early detection of problems and failures, breakdown of energy losses, evaluating the criticality of accidents and providing operation and maintenance recommendations.
These developments are already implemented in our platform Bluence Performance Management, and they are being used by some of the main actors in the sector.
