ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ADVANCED INTERFACES APPLIED TO THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE OPERATION OF CONTROL CENTERS IN LARGE RENEWABLE PLANTS

The main objective of the project SMART-OP is to obtain a support system for the operator of the Control Room of large renewables, through the digitization of the operation processes of renewable generation through natural language processing and artificial intelligence.

The project is based on the use of digital enabling technologies with high impact and capacity for disruption, applied to achieve the objectives set by the European Energy Commission.

The technologies to be used in the SMART-OP project allow to significantly increase the digital transformation processes in the operation of renewable plants, increasing their competitiveness and participation in the energy mix.

The main technologies to be applied in the project are the following:

  • Artificial intelligence. Applied to the analysis of information on renewable parks, it will allow obtaining recommendations for action in the face of a specific situation of an element of a park.
  • Natural language processing, allowing interaction with advanced voice interfaces with operators.
  • Blockchain / DLT distributed databases, providing traceability and confidence to operations.
  • Cloud computing, providing cloud services both for the project and integrating basic components of infrastructure and existing platforms.

The target clients of these systems are large utilities, developers and investment funds specialized in a sector where the trend is the consolidation of renewable assets in large portfolios. Isotrol, in this way, proposes a new generation of control centers in which the system has intelligence and allows high automation.
