DECISION SUPPORT ADVISOR FOR INNOVATIVE BUSINESS MODELS AND USER ENGAGEMENT FOR SMART ENERGY EFFICIENT DISTRICTS
The objective of the DAREED project is to offer a technological platform of ICT services to promote energy efficiency, activities that reduce CO2 emissions at the neighborhood, city and district level, and to carry out an energy assessment that allows offering comprehensive and updated information on a simple way, that helps decision-making in this area.
DAREED has developed a system capable of receiving information from various sources (street lighting, building and home meters, batteries, small-scale PV renewable energy sources, etc.) to analyze the energy consumption carried out, and provide data and recommendations to citizens in general, energy service providers and public officials. Its operation depends on the active participation of these three groups of actors, and on the collection of data from different sources (monitored consumption, statistical data and simulations, among others).
The key factor in the success of energy efficiency initiatives at the community level has been to involve all stakeholders in an active role and provide the right information at the right time for making the right decisions.
The results of the project were validated by means of pilot tests in three different countries and contexts, Cambridge (United Kingdom), Lizzanello (Italy) and Seville (Spain), for which it is given the possibility of generalizing the results and ensuring replicability in all Europe.
