BigER

Predictive analysis of renewable energy generation infrastructures based on Big Data algorithms.

The main objective of BigER project is to provide an integrated solution that combines predictive analysis techniques with asset management techniques to optimise the operation and maintenance processes of photovoltaic and concentrating solar power generation infrastructures through the application of advanced artificial intelligence techniques and advanced algorithms.

To this end, within the framework of of the BigER project, the design, development and validation of the proofs of concept required to optimise the management of solar generation assets through advanced algorithms capable of exploiting large volumes of information will be carried out.  This optimisation will allow:

  • A reduction in O&M costs, in the order of 10%.
  • The resolution of 80% of the O&M activities in solar plants.
  • Increased reliability and predictability, reducing unavailability and improving the sale of generated energy.

BigER focuses on photovoltaic and concentrated solar generation, but it will also be applicable to other renewable technologies such as wind or mini-hydro.
