Isotrol presents its advances in cybersecurity

Isotrol presents its advances in cybersecurity for renewable energy facilities at JNIC 2019.

80 scientific projects on cybersecurity-related aspects were presented at JNIC 2019, the cybersecurity national research meeting of Spain.

The 5th National Cybersecurity Research Meeting (JNIC 2019) was recently held in Cáceres (Spain). Universities, technology and research centers, and companies showcased around 80 scientific presentations there.

Isotrol and the AICIA research group of Telematic Engineering (Andalusian Association for Research and Industrial Cooperation) showed their joint project on cybersecurity for renewable energy power plants in this event.

Rafael Estepa and Jesús Díaz (AICIA) explained the existing problems in monitoring and control renewable energy facilities in this job, as well as some basics of the Red Eléctrica Cibersegura (Secure Power Grid) project. Such proposal will allow to detect and recognize different types of cyberattacks, including those of zero-day. This project is funded by the Center for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), which is a public business entity, answering to the Government of Spain.
