Research on cybersecurity for a safer electrical grid

Research on cybersecurity for a safer electrical grid

Project Description

The main goal of this project is to increase security levels and improve energy monitoring and control, both on Scadas and control centers for energy facilities. In addition, a risk map in plants will be defined, and protocols will be ensured.

The aim is to strengthen the systems and tools for Scadas and Control Centers developing advanced algorithms to determine the state of security in the system and to detect any symptom of a cyber-attack.

At company level, there will be an improvement on the security levels provided in the power generation systems through SOC services (security operations center), for both current and new Isotrol customers. This service includes security incident management, amplifying the current 24/7 back-up center offer for monitoring and control of renewable generation plants.

Participants: Isotrol, S2Grupo, Ibermática, ZIV, Ingeteam, Arteche, Fanox, Tecnalia and University of Seville.

Financing: This project is financed by the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), through the Strategic Program of Consortiums of National Business Research (CIEN) 2017
